			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Looks like things are getting serious at Square-Enix, and this all pertains to Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Looks like planners are needed for the game. The two key planners needed are a Battle Planner and Level Design Planner. The posting also notes that, &#8220;This position asks for people with experience making PS3 and Xbox 360 package games.&#8221; Which is not to say that this game has gone multiplatform like it&#8217;s previous relative, Final Fantasy XIII. It just means that they aren&#8217;t being picky about who they hire, as long as they are qualified to plan battles and level designs.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There was a meeting last month at Square-Enix. During this meeting Nomura had the chance to check up on how Final Fantasy Versus XIII was progressing. The meeting consisted about finding out about maps, events, and battles. He specifically spoke about the problems that had arisen with the maps, and said that the staff filled the issues with playful elements. There should also be additional areas that what is there currently as well. About menus he states, &#8220;We&#8217;re doing lots of trial and error on this. When you say Final Fantasy, you think of enemy damage figures flying out and showing player HP. What will we do with these in the action-heavy Versus?&#8221; He then went on to create a list about what things were added or fixed in the game so far. </p>
<li>The look of a forest that you can see once you&#8217;ve cleared a narrow mountain path.</li>
<li>Things that are required when leaving the city by moving on the roofs of buildings.</li>
<li>The positioning of the bookshelves in shops</li>
<li>How flags are standing</li>
<li>How the sea is handled on the world map</li>
<li>The roads you can see from the air ship</li>
<li>The length of bridges</li>
<li>The look on a character during a short cut in a scene where he or she is leaving.</li>
<li>Explanation of a fathers feelings during a conversation scene.</li>
<li>The areas that they want to have connected seamlessly, and the areas that they want to connect via cuts.</li>
<li>Explanations about the heroines movements.</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>TGS brought us new footage that we have not yet seen of Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII. The beginning of the Versus footage has Noctis near a fence and the logo of the game is on the bottom left. Then, you can see him go through a deserted wasteland area in the daytime. Shortly after, the footage changes to a street at night, where Noctis encounters a Behemoth creature that he must fight. As Noctis fights the Behemoth with his sword, you can see blood splatter from the hits that the enemy takes. Then, the footage ends with the Fabula Nova Crystallis logo on a black background.</p>
<p>The beginning of the Agito footage seems to start with a CG scene, with the logo on the bottom right. It appears that there is a summon crest of some sort. Then, it goes to soldiers walking in a line preparing for war. The rest of the footage shows off the battle system of the game. It looks pretty interesting, with the HP bars at the bottom, and the characters on the screen battling enemies. The enemies range from typical soldiers, to huge enemies, and flying enemies. There is one large enemy shown climbing up a building. The environments seem to be quite detailed as well. There seems to be a plain location, a desert location, and a location where it&#8217;s raining. The footage then ends with the characters all in a pose.</p>
<p>For now, all we have is off screen sort of bad quality footage. Nomura has spoken recently on Twitter, and has stated, &#8220;This time, all the PVs from the Open and Closed theaters will be released.&#8221; So, we should expect to see the footage that was released during TGS to be online in high quality soonish. He goes on to say, &#8220;We&#8217;re having outside contractors make the sites for each game, so it seems that uploading the videos isn&#8217;t a simple thing.&#8221; Basically, it isn&#8217;t going to be that soon, but it shouldn&#8217;t be longer than maybe a few months. The last thing he tweets about is, &#8220;Please wait a bit for the release of all.&#8221; Patience is a virtue for the footage, but at least we were able to get a taste of them instead of waiting for Square to release them online.</p>
<p>More information on both games should be at the Fabula Nova Crystallis conference on January 11, 2011.</p>

Kitase&#8217;s very words on Versus are, &#8220;We have no release date information to update. Unfortunately, we can&#8217;t say anything about that. We can&#8217;t commit ourselves to 2011 either.&#8221; Sure, this year isn&#8217;t 2011, and many things can change in a year. If not, then Versus might not see the light of day until 2012, or even worse, 2013. This goes in line with what Tetsuya Nomura stated recently, that he wishes to release other titles he&#8217;s been working on before he releases Versus and Agito. On the positive side, Final Fantasy Versus XIII could still see a Fall 2011 release.</p>

Nomura has stated on the 3rd Birthday Twitter that Versus, as well as Agito, will be a part of a Fabula Nova Crystallis video at TGS. This video will be shown on monitors in the demo line areas, and will not be a part of the open theater. The footage of Versus will include the scenes that were in both the Famitsu and Dengeki magazines. The Agito footage will be totally new and will resemble what the final product will look like. Nomura stated that he isn&#8217;t able to show much due to the fact that both games have no set release date.</p>

About Versus, Nomura tweeted that, &#8220;Versus has had many difficulties, and past method of production have been completely inapplicable, but these are the difficulties of birth, so we are working hard. We have a lot to announce, but because we&#8217;re going in order, I can&#8217;t say too much yet.&#8221; He also talked a bit more about Versus saying, &#8220;There have been many questions regarding fields. It&#8217;s not a completely open world. It&#8217;s like the 2D FF games in HD. Although, in terms of looks, it&#8217;s not a top-down view, it&#8217;s like the screenshots that have been released. You&#8217;ll move through the world from that view.&#8221;</p>
<p>Besides the talk of just Versus, he also brought up the voice casting for Versus and Agito. Nomura states that, &#8220;Agito and Versus have different production styles and progress states, but they&#8217;re both presently undergoing voice casting. 3rd&#8217;s recording will end shortly. Next up is Agito.&#8221; Also, don&#8217;t expect to see Versus or Agito at Gamescom, because Nomura stated that both games will not show up at this event. It also might be some time before we both see both games release as well with this tweet, &#8220;There are a number of unannounced titles. These will come before Agito and Versus. Some have finished voice recording. Announcements will take place in Japan.&#8221; Hopefully, those other games won&#8217;t take too long, and maybe we can get some more information on Versus and Agito this coming TGS.</p>

<p><strong>Initial comments:</strong> Development is advancing smoothly though a lot of technical issues prevented it from showing at E3 this year. Those screenshots were prepared with this exact timing in mind, since now because production is picking up steam.</p>
<p><strong>Q:</strong> Is this a real-time screenshot we’re looking? The image quality is very good.<br />
<strong>A:</strong>Yes it’s an image in real-time using the real hardware.We aim to improve the quality you’re seeing now even further. As of now we can’t share more details in full scale right now, so we removed the menus and subscreens where it shows Noctis expression (image projected on the subscreen).</p>
<p><strong>Q:</strong> Were the party members also there originally?<br />
<strong>A:</strong> Yes, we removed because we haven’t formally announced their weapons and clothes yet.</p>
<p><strong>Q:</strong> The exquisiteness and shades are like a photograph taken from real life.<br />
<strong>A:</strong> Indeed, we’re using physical calculations to determine the movement of the clouds. By this time it allow us to filter sunlight and others on Versus XIII.</p>
<p><strong>Q:</strong> Is the cliff to the wilderness &#038; the Gas Station set in the same location?<br />
<strong>A:</strong> Yes in the back of the Store is the cliff to the extended wilderness. You can walk all the way, to everything you see but the mountains.</p>
<p><strong>Q:</strong> What’s this giant Enemy on the other screen?<br />
<strong>A:</strong> It’s a Military Behemoth and he actually bears a huge sword in his back. As for this pictures, the battle screen were on the screen but we omitted it.</p>
<p><strong>Q:</strong> The street of Shinjuku is real.<br />
<strong>A:</strong> Yes, it’s our model for this, even the bicycle lanes and crosswalks are decipted. But the sense of distance has been changed a bit since the last time. Right out of the city you encounter the wilderness with electric wires every as it’s this kind of territory for this country.</p>
<p><strong>Q:</strong> This region, It is only the Prologue, the early stages, nature is so even there.<br />
<strong>A:</strong> Movement around this area is easy because you can use a car. Getting on and off the car can be done anytime, but only not possible to go all the way through it because it leads to a region underwater that has been shown on promotional trailers before.<br />

<strong>Q:</strong> Monsters appear on the field?<br />
<strong>A:</strong> (Laughter)…Yes, there are monsters that appear on the field; Some staff were doing the tests and were surprised by how good looking some are in the evening sun.</p>
<p><strong>Q:</strong> Are the battles seamless, what about the world?<br />
<strong>A:</strong> It’s basically seamless and we aim to make it even more seamless, but there are loadings between big areas.</p>
<p><strong>Q:</strong> Information disclosure, is very restrict as of now.<br />
<strong>A:</strong> Development is very advanced along and according to expectations we’re taking steady steps; wait at ease please, information on Versus XIII will come. Moreover, we’re making preparations for a Big announcement.</p>
<p><strong>Q:</strong> You can actually see a signboard and things written inside in the screenshot?<br />
<strong>A:</strong> The signboard is still temporary even though the inside of the Gas Station is modeled after the Stations in the US in detail. It’s possible to go up there using the stairs.</p>
<p><strong>Q:</strong> Do you play in this perspective the whole game?<br />
<strong>A:</strong> Yes. The camera basically sits in this position. We decided to priority to the character’s presence and the world; that said we decided to scrap the over the shoulder perspective of the world.</p>

On the subject of Final Fantasy Versus XIII, &#8220;Shimomura wouldn&#8217;t say much. In fact, she didn&#8217;t really say anything at all. The development staff is currently forming a framework for the game&#8217;s music. Shimomura noted that they have to be careful about making too firm an image, as the music may then not end up fitting with the game. They&#8217;re currently considering the possibilities for many different music types, a phase of development that she enjoys.&#8221;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Nomura was recently interviewed in the latest Famitsu/Dengeki PlayStation magazines. He talked about Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and you can read about the information he talked about below.</p>
<p>- All the screenshots in the interview are captured from the game running in real time.<br />
- The movement of the clouds in the game are controlled by the physics engine in the game.<br />
- The game employs an open field concept, so you can travel anywhere except into mountains.<br />
- The encounter system is a mix of random and visible encounters? (Confusing point, the blog doesn&#8217;t seem clear either.)<br />
- Battles are seamless. The only loading in the game will occur when moving between very large areas. They&#8217;re aiming for the ultimate in seamlessness.<br />
- Objects along the paths of roads can be destroyed.<br />
- Most people will not believe their eyes when they see the high quality of the battles in motion.<br />
- The staff are highly motivated now.<br />
- There will still be improvements and more polish on the visuals made, the visuals in the screens are the game running at the moment.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>An investors meeting took place today in Tokyo, and one of the people who attended was Wada, the CEO of Square Enix. During this investors meeting, there was a Q&#038;A, and Wada was able to take part in it. One question that was asked was about Final Fantasy Versus XIII going multiplatform, and Wada responded with &#8220;We&#8217;ll be looking into it internally until right before the formal announcement.&#8221; So, the platform of choice for Versus is up in the air as of now. It can either stay a Playstation 3 exclusive like it has previously been mentioned, or go multiplatform. E3 2010, or TGS of this year should make light of what platform(s) this game is going to be on. </p>
