Fabula Nova Crystalis Story

The world of Final Fantasy XIII is named Pulse. The world has two types of inhabitants besides humans. One type is the fal'Cie, who are a race that exists beyond humanity. The other are the l'Cie, who are those marked by the fal'Cie for a greater purpose. A Cie Corpse is the eventual fate of a l'Cie if they don't complete a Focus, or mission, given by a fal'Cie. The fal'Cie were directed thirteen centuries ago to create a paradise for humanity, which lead to the creation of Cocoon. Cocoon is a shell like city that floats above Pulse. The Crystal in Cocoon makes life forms and machines that the inhabitants use. Those who live on Cocoon fear Pulse and anything and anyone that comes from Pulse. The reason being is that the wilderness of Pulse has strange effects on people. Anyone that comes from Pulse and tries to enter Cocoon are exiled by the PSICOM army. Lightning was a former soldier of PSICOM, and she was chosen by the fal'Cie to become a l'Cie and to be an enemy to humanity in order to bring the downfall of Cocoon.
